5 Things You Can Do This Weekend Whilst In Isolation

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

So, it's Friday! Hooray...

For a lot of us, all of the days are merging into one. What was once the best day of the week has suddenly turned into any other day.

No office chat such as, 'so what you doing this weekend?'

And no texting our friends arranging weekend plans.

However, it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, I'm going to list 5 things you can do this weekend!

Arrange a Skype or Zoom call with your friends and family

This is my main plan for the weekend, and it really lifts your spirits. Me and my friends have already made plans on whose playing the music, and we're going to pretend we're in our local bar. You can't argue with a cheap night out, or *in* I should say.

I moved out about 2 years ago now and video call my family without fail every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday. I didn't realise how special these little calls actually are until I'm now unable to see them. Make sure to keep in contact with your loved ones, remember you aren't alone in this!

Do that thing you've always wanted to do but never had time for!

This is the perfect time to do all the things you've been putting aside for so long!

Finish that book, complete writing that novel. Whatever it is you have in mind, give it a go. If there's one thing we have over the next few weekends, it's time!

Make a list of films you've always wanted to watch and have your own little movie marathon.

We all have films we've said we want to go see in the cinema, and as soon as we have time to actually go see them - it finished the day before!

Make a list of films you've always wanted to watch, there's a chance they will almost definitely be on Netflix, Now TV or Amazon Prime. This would be great to do with friends and family and can be incorporated with your video call!

Do an online course!

This is a great thing to do if you're looking on gaining some skills! Courses vary from a couple of hours to a couple weeks. They look amazing on your CV and can get you in a routine. If you want to have a look at some of the best online courses, you can find a list by clicking this link.

Have a self care weekend!

A lot of us (me included) feel incredibly guilty when we haven't felt productive during this strange time. Please remember, by staying at home you are doing something - you're saving lives. Get a nice bubble bath, put a hair mask on your hair - get the cucumber on those eyes! Look after yourself!

Times are incredibly tough at the minute, please remember to give yourself a pat on the back this weekend, and please - look after yourselves!
